I've wanted this book ever since I read a review of it when it was first published. Finally, alibris gave me an inexpensive way to own it. I've found it is everything I'd wanted.
This is a loving and informative view of the building of a piano. The author is a family member and loves his family, his uncles, and the pianos his ancestor designed and his family produced.
The book goes into depths such as the wood properties and reason each wood is selected each part. Deep it may be, but the author never forgets the aesthetics. The illustrations are clear and beautiful at the same time.
