Petru Popescu writes well. He can describe anything and create an image in the reader's mind. The book is well researched and has a rich Kenyan local colour. It is well documented scientifically even though it is a work of fiction. There is suspense in the book. You have to read it quickly to the end. Two paleontologists discover not one but two types of living anthropological fossils and while investigating this "treasure" are attacked by the villains who want to gain international scientific recognition by endangering the very survival of these tribes that haven't changed since the Pleistocene. I felt that the plot has too many twists and turns typical to thrillers, and is therefore predictable as to their outcome. However, I recommend the book, It makes a good read. It is interesting, you learn a lot about Kenya, about anthropology, about political maneuvers of corrupt leaders, about what makes scientists tick etc. There is plenty in the book to keep one interested.
