Volume I (Eastern Rolls) is greatly expanded in content and improved in format over the original edition. It consists of 11 different rolls covering the period 1817-1924. The 1924 Baker roll upon which the present day membership of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is based is included. Volume II (Western Rolls) is a new volume which consists of four major rolls (1851-1914), including a never before published combination Guion Miller and Dawes Roll. The Dawes Roll (1898-1914) serves as the present day basis for enrollment with the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
