Seller's Description:
Good. Book. 8vo-over 7æ-9æ" tall. Hardcover, beige cloth spine over dark brown paper covered boards. 337 pages. Illustrated with drawings. Reprint edition, no date but generally acknowledged to be 1915. Best remembered for his macabre tale "The Monkeys Paw", Jacobs also wrote numerous novels and short stories which featured dockside and rural Essex characters involved in farcical situations. The present novel is of the later ilk, a humorous nautical and travel tale, first published in 1904. No previous ownership marks. Paper covered boards are quite rubbed and show edge-wear, albeit the book is otherwise square, tight and sound. Good.
