With the exception of the chapter on congenital heart disease, this is a single-authored book from the Indiana School of Medicine at Indianapolis. The book is physiologically and clinically oriented. There are bibliographies at the end of each chapter, and many illustrations. Newer developments, such as Doppler, color, direct intraoperative, intrauterine, stress, esophageal, 3-D, and digital modalities, are integrated into the clinical discussions. Cardiac hemodynamics are explained. Despite a few flaws the book is most valuable for those interested in clinical cardiology.
