First of all, I hope you send this book to my friend in CA, Mitchell Clogg. The last purchases I bought as gifts for Mitchell Clogg, and you sent them all to me! I regifted one to a visitor in my home, and the other is sitting here somewhere in my house.
Back to this review. This is one of the very very best books I have ever read.I certainly have kept my copy here, and thank you for mailing this copy of the book to Mitchell Clogg, not Sandra H.Phillips.he has a terminal disease and I hope he gets this book soon.
The true story, is about a very greedy, hard hearted couple, that , when Andrew Bridge's birth mother gave him up to foster care..It hurt him so bad, but she never ever came back for him. These Foster "Parents"also took in another younger child too.The book tells how stoically Andrew proves he can outsmart their cruelty, as the other child fawns over them, calling them mother and dad. They were made to stay outside everyday all day long, no matter what the weather, given only a raw egg beaten with/ some sugar, Germans named the drink Grog. The child wouldnt, and almost starved, but Andrew, "got it down" they only gave the young kid a plastic little boat from the dollar store, and eventually, they even gave him backto FosterParents Inc..It is a very touching story of his life til he turned 18, with these heartless monsters..he survived, and no where can you find his name anywhere online, he wrote his story, Its a bestseller to me, but he disapeared from any public contact. His upbringing was that cruel, but he survived. If you like touching, and inspiring true life stories, very very interesting, you will love this book.I highly recommend it.He sure knew how to outwit this hateful, selfish couple.
