This book has you guessing right until the end. From the prologue to the very end one will suspect one thing but be very surprised at the ending. A must read for anyone who believes they can "figure" out a story. Even a peek at the end will not allow for the full scope to be shown unless you read the full book. Not many a chance to be this surprised at an ending. This story unfolds like a flower opening to the sun. Each layer touching and opening before revealing another layer. This story tells the full scope and you are guessing, hoping, wishing and planning only to be surprised in the next chapter. This is in my top 2/3 books by Jackson. If you read nothing else of hers - this is a must read. One does not even notice the romance of the book with the solid suspense. While romance is key to Jackson stories, this one would be a great book without the romance plot involved even. Not many stories can say the same. If romance is key for you - you will also not be disappointed. But, foremost, the story is suspensful first, a romance second. Love it, love it, love it. Notice I said love not loved. This book is safely ensconsed on my self to never leave. I will not part with this book ever. It will be read again and again, regardless of the fact I know what happens....
