Seller's Description:
Good. 438, wraps, chronology, pencil erasure residue on front endpaper, covers somewhat worn/soiled, time stamp inside rear cover. Introduction by Thomas I. Emerson. This is a book of major legal and historical importance dealing with one of the most controversial and notable trials of the 20th century. The petition is based on some 60, 000 pages of documents that had recently been released to Hiss under the Freedom of Information Act by the FBI, the CIA, and other federal agencies. This appears to be a complete work, but a second volume was also published. There is no indication that this is the first of a two-volume work.
