Very nice book for preschoolers, around 2-5 yo. It helps expand their vocabulary as they grow, has nice color pictures and is appealing to kids. I first saw it in the library and decided to get it for ourselves. It is great as many DK books are (in fact, this was the book that discovered for me the great world of DK!), though you might be also interested in a very similar DK My First Dictionary - same 1000 words, but with written small descriptions besides illustrations. This one you could use into the Kindergarten and 1st grade as simple reading material.
You can get a double use out of them, if you sign under each word it's translation in another language - so, as their English vocabulary expands, so will their second language.
