kind of a let down
I read great reviews on this book. People said it was "the best thing since Twilight." Turns out the first few chapters just have a lot of similarities as Twilight. This high school girl goes to live with her grandma, it's cold there, she complains about it, and when she gets there what else is in the drive way...a new car! The similarities are to numerous including the shape shifter boyfriend but there's no real meat to the story. The werewolf shape-shifter I can deal with but the eagle and tiger are a little odd. Right up there with stopping fey with kitchenware!

I had high expectations for this novel if only because heroine, Zara, seemed so quirky and atypical of supernatural romance leads, and the story itself seemed very intriguing.
The premise of the novel is good but the execution falls short of such. The emotions and motivations behind each character was rather shallow and I was left completely unconvinced about the sincerity behind the love, hate, desperation and fear the characters felt.
The story also moved at an odd pace, slow, then fast, and leaves the reader wondering what exactly is going on.
