The fourth in the Coming to America series, this one follows a German girl, Karola, who arrives in Idaho at the request of her first love, Jakob, who had promised to send for her when he left Germany 12 years earlier.
She had given up hope of hearing from him. When she arrives, she is surprised to find he is a widower, with three children. She agrees to help him care for the children until harvest, but refuses to marry him.
Slowly she comes to love his children, and the love between Jakob and Karola is new and stronger than before. A good story, but not as good as the first and third book.

I have been seeking this book for quite a while! I enjoyed the read. Can you imagine waiting 10 plus years for your fiance to send for you? I would recommend the revised series.
