Had read this book before, but bought this copy for a friend. Read it again...and didn't remember how good it was! If you like historical fiction, this one's for you!
Tamera Alexander is a great author. The first in the series, "Rekindled" is also an excellent read!

Forgiveness
The second in the Fountain Creek Chronicles, this was a nice love story with an underlying theme of forgiveness, based on the Parable of the Pharisee and the Publican.
Annabelle is a former prostitute who has found forgiveness in Christ, after being redeemed out of the brothel, by her late husband. Her brother-in-law, Matthew has never approved of her, and she knew it. He was estranged from his brother because of their marriage.
Matthew and Annabelle are thrown together as they must travel from Colorado to Idaho to claim her late husband's land.
As Matthew learns that Annabelle is a new person because of her faith, he begins to love her. However, he has secrets of his own, and is on the run. There are adventures along the way, including a scene that was painful to read.
As Matthew learns that he also has much to be forgiven, he begins to forgive Annabelle and his abusive father.

Second in Alexander's Colorado series, this book follows two of the minor characters from her first novel, Rekindled. Not as good as the first one, but still challenging to one's personal faith and the temptation we all struggle with not let the past stay in the past.
