Particular emphasis is placed on line drawings to illustrate relationships of sedimentary environments to processes and facies. It has been designed as a textbook for final year undergraduates, postgraduates and professional geologists, especially those working on industrial problems. This edition follows the same general plan as the first, but each chapter has been reorganized and rewritten to incorporate advances in knowledge and understanding since 1978.
