This scarce scientific classic was devised as a comprehensive compendium on the topic of sound, as well as being a conscious attempt to help solidify the increasing recognition of scientific claims at the time. Still applicable today, this fascinating book will appeal to aspiring scientists and constitutes a worthy addition to any library. John Tyndall was a prominent 19th century physicist, whose initial scientific fame arose in the 1850s from his study of diamagnetism.
