Being from New Mexico I, of course, enjoy reading novels set in the state. This particular novel linked a story from the past to the present. I enjoyed the historical story/mystery part of the novel more compared to the most recent story of emotional relationships between the characters. I whizzed through the book relatively quick and might have given it four stars but I found it very hard to find a character that I actually liked. All members of the book club enjoyed the book but it had that "something" we couldn't put our fingers on that kept us from showing any enthusiasm towards it. Maybe it was due to characters' qualities however it still prompted decent discussion.
