As those who have read the first sets of the Thomas Covenant series might guess, the Land is in trouble once again.
Linden Avery M.D., 10 earth-years after witnessing Covenant's death in his (and her) own world, again encounters his wife and son. Through a force she immediately recognizes, she is violently called back to the Land where she must prove herself to many who, over 3000 Land-years prior, would have been certain allies.
