More importantly, this edition has been thoroughly updated and includes greater emphasis on computer applications, networks, consortia, and the use of the latest technology. As part of the research for this second edition, the author visited campuses throughout the United States and Canada to study their libraries first hand. His experiences have enabled him to identify the latest trends and developments in the profession. Included in the text are layouts of several science-technical libraries and a chapter on facility planning. Selected references are found at the end of each chapter.
