Eden Day, granddaughter of the beloved Tibby from Dawn's Early Light, meets the dashing Cabot Murray. Soon the charming Cabot has won the heart of Eden and the approval of Tibby. Cabot is in Williamsburg just before the Civil War begins, he is a reporter, and a Yankee! Eden is swept off her feet in love with him., but soon the Great War will separate them and it will take all that they can do to reunite. The war takes its toll on them both and Eden loses loved ones and her love for Cabot and for her family is put to the test. Eden even at one point smuggles much needed medication for soldiers of the south only to be captured by Cabot's commanding officer. Eden is a heroine for the ages and Cabot will charm you as he does the entire Day family. So come along for the journey in this wonderful second book in the Williamsburg series. It is a must read. You will be glad you did. There is romance but it is suitible for all ages. I have loved this book since I was a teenager. I still love them and so will you!
