Seller's Description:
Good in good dust jacket. Jacket photo by Thomas Victor. 'Hardwick began [Sleepless Nights] after divorcing her husband [Robert Lowell] and finished it after he died in a taxi from the airport to her apartment, ' writes Sarah Nicole Prickett of this enduring literary feat, which drew inspiration from both Renata Adler and Colette. Lovely faux-marbled jacket by R. D. Scudellari, who also gave career-defining looks to Toni Morrison, John Cheever, and others, as well as the distinctive calligraphic branding to Random House's Library of America series, before eventually choosing to walk away from what he called 'desktop publishing' when faced with the transition to digital. Spine is tight, but has a slight lean. Clean, unmarked interior. There is a slight warp to the front board, probably due to a production error. Metallic stamping to spine and front board remains bright. Jacket is not price-clipped and has some areas of light edge-wear. 151 pp. Fiction.
