Für Konstrukteure und Statiker in den technischen Büros der Industrie, der Beratenden Ingenieure und der Prüfämter enthält das Buch aufbereitete Berechnungsverfahren und Konstruktionsvorschläge in großer Zahl. Die Ausführungen berücksichtigen die neuesten Regelwerke und werden durch eine umfangreiche Literaturdokumentation ergänzt. Das Buch gliedert sich in zwei Teile, entsprechend der Gliederung des Studiums in Grund-und Vertiefungsstudium. Im ersten Teil werden, nach kurzer Abhandlung historischer und wirtschaftlicher Aspekte, die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Baustähle dargestellt. Es folgt eine Einführung in die Sicherheitstheorie und in die elasto-und plasto-statischen Berechnungstheorien I. und II. Ordnung. Hier werden die elastostatischen Methoden der allgemeinen Biege-und Torsionstheorie abgehandelt und schließlich die Anstrengungs-und Bruchtheorie in ihren Grundlagen dargestellt. Wenn man zu diesem Buch greift, ist es fast nicht mehr nötig, sich mit anderer Literatur zum Thema Stahlbau zu befassen. Es handelt sich um ein Universitätslehrbuch, trotzdem werden sehr viele praktische Beispiele gerbracht, die sehr gut nachvollziehbar sind. Ich kenne sehr viele Bücher zum Thema, aber dieses hat mich mit Abstand am meisten überzeugt. Wer den konstruktiven Ingenieurbau vertieft hat, für den lohnt sich die Anschaffung, trotz des enormen Preises.
