This observation was brought home to me when, after one of my (typically rambling) undergraduate lectures, a student asked me to recommend a good book. Unfortunately, I could not do so. I have no misconceptions that this book will totally solve the problem. My main goal is to introduce the area to a wide audience which appears to be currently almost unaware of the existence of many of the compounds, or has difficulty because 'there are so many different shapes and structures. ' This book is arranged along lines intended to to accentuate the structural similarities in a rather diverse area." The chapter headings are: Introduction; Electron-Deficient Species; Electron-Precise/Classical Species; and Electron-Rich Species. 124 pages, with tables, figures, and Index; plus ix pages Contents, and Preface; References at the end of each chapter.
