Seller's Description:
Froud, Brian. New in new dust jacket. Signed by author. Sewn binding. Cloth over boards. 208 p. Audience: General/trade. SIGNED BY BRIAN FROUD Brian Froud's book Faeries (often co-authored with Alan Lee) is a comprehensive, richly illustrated exploration of folklore, mythology, and the real (imagined) world of faeries, covering their history, diverse types (goblins, pixies, elves, etc. ), habitats, customs, and complex interactions with humans, drawing from Celtic legends, poetry, and oral traditions to present a deeper, more nuanced view of these magical beings. It's a journey into the unseen world, revealing faeries as tricky, powerful, and deeply connected to nature, not just cute sprites. In essence, Faeries is an invitation into a complex, magical world, presenting the "true" stories and characteristics of these beings from their own perspective, as told through Froud and Lee's research and art.
