The H'mong originated in northern Laos and created unique designs using hemp cloth and indigo dyes. This book shows the various designs, explains the symbolism of each motif and explains how to make them. The technique involves writing with wax on the hemp or cotton cloth and dying it to create repeating white motifs. The book is printed in blue ink that mimics the indigo dye used.
